Water for Life: Revive Broken Boreholes in Turkana & Garissa

Northern Kenya has water — but it's trapped deep underground. Across Turkana and Garissa counties, there are dozens of abandoned boreholes:

1. Drilled by NGOs 5–10 years ago

2. Hand pumps or diesel pumps broke down

3. No funds for spare parts or fuel

4. Communities returned to walking 15–25 km for muddy, unsafe water

The result:

Deadly waterborne diseases (cholera, typhoid, diarrhea)

1. Girls miss school to fetch water

2. Livestock die of thirst during dry seasons

3. Conflict erupts at remaining water points

The solution is simple and lasting.
We will rehabilitate 4 existing broken boreholes and convert them to solar-powered pumping — no fuel costs, low maintenance, clean water for decades.
