Save the Children International

Founded in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb in the United Kingdom, Save the Children is the world's first and leading independent children's organization. Operating in more than 100 countries, Save the Children works to ensure children have access to quality healthcare, nutritious food, protection from violence and exploitation, and quality education. The organization is particularly known for pioneering the concept of child rights, with Jebb drafting the original Declaration of the Rights of the Child – a precursor to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
